I am a regular Wetherspoon customer and frequently visit The Sir Daniel Arms and occasionally The Savoy. On this occasion, I visited The Savoy with my friends and family. When we arrived, most tables were unclean. We eventually found a table and had to clean it ourselves before sitting down. I placed my food order through the Wetherspoon app. When the food was delivered, I immediately informed the staff member that some items from my order were missing. She told me the remaining food was still in the kitchen and would be brought shortly. After waiting for a long time, the food did not arrive. I spoke to the same staff member again, and she said she would check. She later returned and insisted that all items had already been delivered, which was incorrect. I calmly tried to explain that I was still missing items from my order, but she was unwilling to listen and became dismissive. I then asked to speak with a manager. The staff member said she would speak to the manager but returned and rudely told me she had already done so, refusing to let me speak to them and still not resolving the missing food. Only after insisting again did the manager come over. I explained the situation clearly to the manager. He said he would look into it and went to the kitchen. I followed to politely confirm the missing items on my order. He then returned with the missing food, confirming that I was correct. However, while serving the food, the manager said to me, “Next time please don’t shout,” which was completely untrue. I did not raise my voice at any point. My friends and family were present throughout and can confirm this. The entire interaction made me feel embarrassed and uncomfortable. I strongly believe the way I was treated was unfair and discriminatory. There was no apology from either the staff member or the manager for their behaviour or for the inconvenience caused. When I asked how to raise a complaint, the manager was unhelpful and did not assist me. I am requesting that this matter be formally investigated, including a review of CCTV footage if necessary. I would like appropriate action to be taken regarding both the staff member who served me and the manager on duty, and I expect a written response explaining the outcome of this complaint. I have always enjoyed visiting Wetherspoon, which makes this experience particularly disappointing. I hope this issue is taken seriously and handled appropriately. Service: 1 Price per person: £10–20
