Scratch Baking is hands down my favorite bakery in all of CT! It’s been my go to breakfast spot for years and my morning feels incomplete without it. The staff is so friendly and it makes my day to be greeted with so many smiles when I walk in. I can’t even choose one sandwich to rave about because they are all INCREDIBLE. The food here is always fresh and delicious making it literally impossible to choose a favorite menu item. The baked goods are obviously top notch, my coworkers get so excited when I bring in goodies from Scratch :) This business goes above and beyond being just a bakery, it’s a community full of love and carbs. You can taste the care baked into everything made here, I am so grateful to have Scratch in my life! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

This place definitely has the best pastries around, but their service isn't great. Went two weekends in a row: ordered in-person the first time, and online the second time. Both times, they forgot something. In-person, we ordered 3 pastries, a tuna sandwich, an iced tea, and a lemonade. It took ~25 minutes to get the iced tea, pastries, and tuna sandwich. We then realized that they forgot to add the lemonade to our receipt, so we got back in line and ordered a lemonade, which took another ~10 minutes to get. The woman taking our order wasn't friendly and seemed to have a bad attitude. The next weekend I figured I'd order online and have better luck. Ordered 4 pastries -- got home and realized they forgot one of them. I didn't think to check while I was at the store because they staple the bag shut. Either way, it's unfortunate that the service doesn't measure up to their food. Not sure if it's worth going back. Hi Madison, I am sad to see this review as we really do pride ourselves on our friendly and efficient service. We are not a quick service establishment and do our best to offer estimated wait times during our busy weekend days. If anything is ever missing from your order (on your receipt or not), you can always come right up to the register to remedy the situation instead of getting back in line. We are always happiest to resolve problems on the spot! I have visited 3 times in the last 6 months (I live 35 minutes away) It is always in my day off plans to make the trip because everything is so delicious at Scratch Baking. The staff is very nice.
