What a wonderful way to spend my final morning in Colombo! Seed Cafe is a hidden gem that perfectly combines a charming rustic concept with exceptional food and warm hospitality. Housed in a beautifully restored heritage building, the café offers a relaxed atmosphere where every corner feels thoughtfully designed. The rustic wooden furniture, airy verandah, and peaceful ambience make it an ideal place to slow down and enjoy a great breakfast. I ordered their English-style breakfast together with coffee, while my dining companion enjoyed another brunch selection and tea. Every component on the plate was fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavour. The chicken sausages were delicious, the eggs were perfectly cooked, the mushrooms and potatoes were well seasoned, and the coffee was excellent. It was exactly the satisfying breakfast I was hoping for. What impressed me even more was the service. The team was genuinely friendly, welcoming, and attentive without being intrusive. Their warm smiles and positive attitude made the experience even more enjoyable. After a disappointing dinner elsewhere the night before, Seed Cafe completely restored my confidence in Colombo's dining scene. This is the type of café I happily recommend to anyone looking for quality food, excellent coffee, a relaxing ambience, and outstanding service. Without hesitation, I am giving Seed Cafe 5 out of 5 stars. I will certainly return the next time I visit Colombo. Highly recommended! Meal type: Breakfast Price per person: Rs 3,000–4,000

Visited Seed Cafe while they’re temporarily operating from their new space during renovations, and I have to say, they’ve done a lovely job creating a cozy atmosphere even there. We ordered the Mexican Chipotle Bowl and the Mango Chicken with Coconut Rice, along with a Tropical Wave, a Vietnamese Iced Coffee, and an Oatmeal Raisin Cookie. The food was absolutely delicious, and the portions were satisfying. The oatmeal raisin cookie was a standout, definitely one of the best I’ve had! The Tropical Wave was refreshing, although I felt the drink portions were a little small. Overall, the menu is slightly on the pricier side (around Rs. 1,000–4,000), but the quality of the food and the overall experience make it worthwhile. What really stood out was the friendly and attentive service. The staff were warm, welcoming, and made us feel right at home. Seed is definitely a café worth visiting in Colombo. I’m already looking forward to coming back once the renovations are complete to experience the new space!
