We had such an amazing experience at Shake Shack last night. We unexpectedly had to take our toddler to A&E because she was unwell, and in the rush we hadn’t brought any food for her. I popped into Shake Shack and asked if they could make a special request for her. Without any hesitation, the team sorted it out and wouldn’t even charge us for it. I was genuinely blown away by their kindness. The food here is always awesome, but the service and compassion we received last night really stood out. It was a small gesture that meant a huge amount to us during a pretty stressful night. Thank you to the team — you guys are awesome! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

My child has a dairy allergy yet has eaten all over the world - Mexico, Vietnam, Europe. We always find something on the menu for him to eat with minimal hassle. We never expect anyone to go out of their way, but universally eateries have surprised us with their care and thoughtfulness around this issue. Shake Out Smales Farm is the first restaurant in 10 years that absolutely refuses to accommodate us. All that is required is the simple leaving out of a slice of cheese in the burger. This comes solely from the owners, not the lovely workers who have been instructed for whatever reason that the cheese slice must be added with zero exceptions. Bizarre and a real shame. Service: Take out Meal type: Dinner Price per person: NZ$100+

Hi Sonia, We appreciate you taking the time to message us about your experience. …Hi Sonia, We appreciate you taking the time to message us about your experience. At Shake Out, we've chosen to steer away from customisations to keep things speedy, convenient and consistent. While removing cheese may seem simple, allergens can be present in other ingredients or cross-contamination may occur during food preparation. So yes, we know it's understandably frustrating when you visit us, only to find we can't take the cheese out of your burger. We’re really sorry about this, but please know we aren't doing it to try and intentionally ruin your day. Your comments will be shared with our team, including the owners, for further consideration and improvement. Thanks again for sending through your feedback. Kind regards, The Shake Out TeamMore
