Shakey's has been my "comfort zone" pizza. Especially, its thin crust. I like the simple flavors, Vegetarian with a mix of green peppers, mushrooms, tomatoes and a bit of onion. The Classic Cheese is my all-time favorite order. It has that familiar taste that I have known for decades coming from my college years when we used to hang out either at Shakey's Makati Av or Shakey's Greenhills. I would go with my then boyfriend (now husband) because he was so much into fast cars.
Their new Apple Crumble Pizza is a welcome addition of a sweet pizza. It has melted sugar, with a bit of salt and honey on the crust the gives the "crumble" effect. I would have wanted the addition of cinnamon powder. That would have made it more authentic and really delicious. Their apples are done right.
