Great takeaway spot in Reading! The shawarma here is consistently tasty—well-seasoned, juicy, and packed with fresh ingredients. Orders are prepared quickly, which is perfect when you’re on the go. The portions are generous and good value for money, and everything I’ve tried so far has been full of flavour. Staff are polite and efficient, making the whole experience smooth and hassle-free. Moved to Reading approaching 3 years ago and was disappointed at the lack of Syrian/Lebanese restaurants, especially those that serve falafel. There are a bunch of Turkish options but they aren't quite the same, the bread is thicker you don't have the same salad options. I read about Shawarma Reading in a food blog and added it to my list. I am a huge fan of falafel but it's surprisingly how poorly they can be done, I've been to restaurants that have falafel in their name and they serve frozen falafel from a cash and carry. So when I find somewhere that does them right it is my duty to let others know. The falafel is prepared fresh to order and the wraps are prepared with care and consultation with the customer (not always the case). The first time I came here the large falafel wrap was wrapped in a thin "tissuey" additional wrap after being prepared and before going into the panini press. When heated it became a marvellous crispy outer layer to the wrap. I've never experienced anything like that before. Sadly it wasn't available today but the falafel wrap was still exceptional. If I'm in Reading high street and hungry this would be my first port of call!
