This was the first and last time I will visit this 7-Eleven. I waited over five minutes without the employee acknowledging me—not even to ask me to wait. Instead, he started counting cash inventory, including coins, which took several more minutes. I waited until he finally finished and acknowledged me, I asked if the tire air machine could be turned on, and he responded that it was not working, but this could have been communicated earlier. At a minimum, customers should be acknowledged and informed that someone will be with them shortly. This employee needs additional training in basic customer service and etiquette. His name on the name tag is Anuj.

Service here has gone down like crazy since the new ownership. Every single new employee barely speaks English and half the time ignores you while they are on their phones. I had to argue with one of the guys for about 20 minutes because he gave me the wrong change, and it felt impossible because I don't think he even understood what I was saying. Before the new ownership, customer service was polite, smiles, and friendly interaction, but now it's the complete opposite. Such a shame. This used to be my favorite gas stop, but after the way I was treated today when getting gas, I decided from now on, I am just going to go to the Chevron across the street.

I’ve been coming to this Shell for almost 6 years, I live nearby. It always had pleasant, helpful staff. Now with the new team, I feel rushed when at the counter; I also have to use more than one screen to enter my Shell rewards info and make payment. Today (my 3 rd visit since the new team) there was an African American customer at the counter, another one 2nd in line and I was 3rd. They were processed in a rush at the same counter. When it was my turn at the counter, the guy behind me (Caucasian) was rushed to the other counter by the same attendant and started being processed as they laughed and chatted. The attendant eventually swung back to me to collect payment. No receipt was offered. I only popped in today as I did not feel like driving to Costco. But, Chevron across Newport will do just fine in future even though they are more expensive. Their premises are cleaner & newer too.
