Firstly, there were no childrens drinks, such as fruit shoots on the menu.
There were no menus or signs, the waitress told us what the Sunday roast options were. This is ok except I had no idea what I was being charged for what I ordered. The food then took over an hour to come out, despite the pub not being busy.
We had ordered vegetarian meals, these came with gravy already on. After the long wait I didn't dare to ask, I hope the gravy was vegetarian.
The bill seemed expensive, I think the childrens portions may have been charged the same as the adults (although again no menu means I have no idea what the cost of a childs roast should have been).
Throughout the meal randomly music would come on, 1 track would play then it would be silent for 10 minutes before starting again, which was a bit odd.
Finally the card machine wasn't working. I feel we should have been informed of this at the start of our visit not at the point of paying the bill. Luckily after several attempts they managed to process a card payment, otherwise we would have had to drive to a cash point.
This pub has changed hands so many times in recent years. As locals, we try it out each time, and really want them to succeed but for some reason, it's never quite run right.
