Who knew making the meal kinda yourself at a restaurant could be fun?! In the midst of more or less the same type of Japanese cuisine venues in Riga, Shichirin has been a major breath of fresh air. Besides the fun of grilling the highest quality of meats, all the sides are really delish as well. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: €35–40 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Our small group had supper here last night - what an unbelievable spot tucked away in this neighborhood. I have been living here for some time and been around the park area quite a bit, but somehow missed this spot. Everything about the restaurant is top-notch - friendly service, welcoming atmosphere, and amazing food quality. Although the price point may not be for everyone, I can assure you that you truly get what you pay for. I highly recommend the sets (at three price points). You will leave full and such a unique and communal meal. We spent hours eating our meal and it was such a relaxing and entertaining time. Our waiter was great. He was amazing at explaining the options, and when the food arrived he explained each dish and gave a small demo on cooking the meat - perfect. The restaurant decor is beautiful - with the entryway a definite wow moment as soon as you enter. I absolutely encourage you to head over to this restaurant - especially for a special night out or with a group of friends. There was even a table of 8 while we were there.
