Shoprite of Fairfield, CT is more like your friendly neighborhood food market than a supermarket chain. Everyone (everyone) working there is incredibly helpful and friendly. It is a throwback to the old days when you received a personal approach from your local small business because they truly care about you as a customer. They appear to start with people who love their job and then train them well. Their customer service culture is infectious and engaging. Their wide and good quality assortment of groceries is customized to local tastes and empathy for their customers and not only homogenized based on what their suppliers are promoting. The fresh and prepared departments are well stocked with higher quality products and the staff enjoys answering questions and explaining their products (especially the fresh fish department.) It's a "how can I help you" and not a "what do you want," approach throughout the store, including the fantastically pleasant and kind cashiers who talk with you like it was a country store.
