We spent our last evening at Shoyu, looking very much forward to it since it has Michelin recognition. As we arrived a little earlier than our reservation time, we waited out front for a bit, since the restaurant was packed inside and out, actually a very good sign! When we finally got the chance to sit down, we realised how small the restaurant actually was, and we felt super lucky to have a table. Our waiter, Slava, was absolutely adorable and smiling all the time. He really made us feel cosy and welcome. We ordered cocktails with our gyoza starter, and they were executed to perfection, with a little foam and everything. Each one was served in its own specific glass. The gyozas were so beautifully presented ,we were really surprised! And the taste was just perfectly balanced with the chilli. We had ramen afterwards. Mine was the “New Wave”, and it arrived at just the right temperature — not too hot, warm enough to enjoy without burning yourself. Amazing flavours once again, and I happily finished it all! We were having such a pleasant time that we prolonged the evening with two more cocktails and shared the miso caramel brownie. So simple on paper: a brownie. But woooow… the best I’ve ever had!!! Super fudgy from the chocolate and caramel, and refreshing at the same time thanks to the ice cream. We absolutely loved it! I will genuinely grieve not being able to come back anytime soon… It was definitely worth every cent spent. Congrats to the whole team : amazing work here!
