service was excellent even if the food was lacking flavor. The 911 roll seemed more like a crime check roll, and the spider roll didnt really capture us in its web. the miso soup was excellent however and our server was attentive and friendly.

Sinju sushi well deserves 5 stars not just for the amazing food, the beautiful decor, the peaceful ambiance, but mostly for our amazing server: Chile. My mom and I were vacationing in Portland for her birthday and randomly stumbled upon Sinju after walking all around Pearl District (and realizing how awful the fashion in Portland is - clearly we needed a drink)! When we walked in, we were greeted by the friendly hostess who took us to a table in a private area, which was very lovely. Our server, Chile, came by with a server in training and from the very beginning of meeting Chile, we knew we were in for a treat! He made our entire dining experience literally, the best that we had in Portland (and we ate out for every meal). He was super friendly, extremely funny, very professional and just so down to earth. If I could transport him to San Francisco, I would! Thank you Chile for treating my mom and I so well - we will remember you forever! Let's chat about the food! For Portland standards, the food is priced on the higher end (but for San Francisco standards, it's cheap). Get the ramen - seriously, get it. My mom had their hamachi appetizer and we also had their tuna tower appetizer. SO GOOD! Food was fresh, delicious and came out really quick. We finished everything and if it was appropriate to lick the plates, we would. If I'm ever in Portland, I will be back! Highly recommend this restaurant! Bonus: You can reserve a table on Open Table.
