Wife and I had to drop off our son back at school after the Thanksgiving weekend. He ran to class and we popped into the Sitting Duck Tavern for lunch before our 4 hour drive home. Wow what a surprise. This place is a little gem of a spot. The staff were pleasant, the place was clean, the food was outstanding. I had a Cadillac burger and fries, the wife had a "Birdcage" chicken sandwich and side salad and we shared an order of duck wings. The food was fresh and flavorful, really great portions, and the whole bill was $50 bucks. Really nice little spot. We cant wait for the next over night stay so we can check out the bar. My son and I stopped by for dinner we called earlier but they told us no need for reservations so we walked in, took us 30 minutes to get a table and after that 40 minutes to be able to order. We ordered French fries fried calamari and 2 chicken Alfredo pastas. Food was awful. Fries and calamari were almost burned overcooked but soft which meant they were cooked while ago and heated again. Tasted not so great. Alfredo chickens were extremely salty even for me and I do love salty food. The Alfredo sauce was very watery and hard to eat. I won’t eat there ever again. Ambiance was a sports bar type very loud and very heavy ketchup smell in the air I hated it but sports bars and burger joints are not my type at all. So if you like it it may not bother you. Decent crowd middle age and older. A few young people were there with family. Casual. Clean bathrooms and very friendly stuff, host and our waiter were very nice. Could be a good place for to have a casual hand out place with friends who doesn’t care for the ambiance. Definitely don’t take your date there or plan something special. Parking is very though, very limited shared parking and nowhere else around to park.
