The best burgers in Tehran are right here. Honestly, I’d even say some of the best burgers in the world come from Iran, and this place proves it. There’s a reason for that. Burgers abroad usually miss the mark for us Middle Eastern folks in three big ways. First, in non-Islamic countries the method of slaughter leaves more blood in the meat, and that leftover taste just doesn’t sit well with our palate. Second, many places outside the Middle East don’t really believe in spices the way we do. Most of their seasoning is just salt and pepper — not always, but often enough to make the food feel flat. Third, lots of places don’t even grill their patties; they cook them in pans or ovens, which means you lose that smoky flavour entirely. For all these reasons, the best burgers for our taste are usually found in Islamic countries — mostly in the Middle East. Slide Burger is one of those places that brings everyone in, Persian, Turkish, Arab doesn’t matter. Good flavour pulls all of us in the same direction.
