I went to Sofia’s with my parents a few weeks ago. Decor really needs to be freshened up as the place looks tired and food is underwhelming. The manager was absolutely awful. She was rude and fat ashamed me because I ordered a pizza and a pasta. I was shocked and offended, especially because I’m petite while she’s a larger woman. What business is it of hers how much I eat. Throughout the evening I could hear the manager yelling and being rude to the staff. I felt sorry for them all. It made us feel very uncomfortable. Our wait staff were lovely and very attentive. Just not the manager. This is not okay and work place bullying is not acceptable behaviour! Years ago we used to come here a lot and my dad commented about how long Sofia’s had been there. She then proceeded to tell my father that they probably won’t be there much longer because they can’t afford the $6000 rent anymore. I honestly can’t believe she’d tell a patron that. It was so awkward and uncomfortable. I don’t understand why a manager, or anyone, would find the need or think it’s okay to disclose that information to someone who’s there to enjoy their dinner.
