I'm amazed that despite our pre determined policy you still want to review even though you have never experienced our bar... 4 mature couples is a party of 8 - no matter how you dress it up (you were actually a 9 in the end) - and regardless of how much money you have to spend. You came late December, without a reservation, and expected to get a table of 9 in a 48 seater venue when we hit capacity every day, with mostly reservations, and persisted even whilst being told we can't accommodate. I'd like to point out that if you walk into a venue and 'perceive' to see empty tables, this doesn't always necessarily mean they are available, and especially since we take mostly reservations on tables and they are consistently reserved. We even had nothing for walk ins at the time of your arrival... I'm actually surprised that you penned to come see us, but didn't the notice of all of the heads up that we give that we don't take anything larger than a 6. It clearly stated this on our website, our bookings form, our booking confirmations, our socials channels, and twice on the way into the venue - once on the front door on the way in (6 max per party) and once on our please wait to be seated sign (Please wait to be seated, 6 max per party) - and you still choose to give us a 1* although we give everyone plenty of notice. If we offered two tables of 4 - we simply wouldn't have a 6 max policy. I'd like to point out that we were nothing but polite to you even considering your confrontational persistence and nothing about our interaction with you justifies why you would leave this review. We pride ourselves on the excellent service we give, and our service values have been cultivated over a long period of time and have worked exactly as intended, as you can see by the overwhelming majority of guest feedback on all of our platforms is extremely positive. We didn't stumble upon this policy by accident, nor did we just make it up. You don't like it because it doesn't suit your complaint. But it won't change, nor do we need to justify why we have made this decision if you find it bizarre without choosing to understand we're a small bar that wants everyone in the venue to get the best of us, and the best out of their time here. This amongst other reasons, is why we're not a big groups bar, and one of the biggest factors in our success is out maintenance of this environment. And we have done all we can to give you the information before you interact with our host… I'm not concerned about your thoughts on our business plan - in contrast to your thoughts, It works very well for us, and our reputation speaks for itself...
