One star. Would give none if I could. Sunday night, family dinner. We stood at the front desk waiting to be seated for 10 minutes. Nobody came; we may as well have been furniture. So we sat ourselves down at a table, and wouldn't you know it, that's when someone finally materialised to tell us, rudely, that the table was reserved. No sign indicating that this was the case; just vibes, apparently. So we were banished to the outdoor seating like naughty schoolkids. We ordered, which went fine. Funny how the one part of the process managed by an app is the only thing that went right all night. Half an hour later the food arrived, with no cutlery. I went to the counter and stood there like a ghost while staff did anything other than acknowledge the human being standing directly in front of them. When I finally spoke up and asked, the lady apologised and gave me some forks, with no knives. That apology was the only semblance of customer service the entire night. Tbh, she deserves better than this place. By this point the food was cold, but we ate anyway. My four-year-old, feral with boredom after an hour of being ignored by professionals, went to the playground. Other kids were flinging themselves around the equipment, bowled him straight over, and he was in tears. Staff did nothing, obviously. Every single failure here was free to fix. A greeting is free. A reserved sign is free. Checking a table is free. Looking up when a child screams is free. You didn't give a toss the whole night, and that had started well before we walked in. TL;DR: You lot are lucky this country is hooked on pokies, because if you had to survive on your food and your service you'd have been run out of town years ago. Thanks for nothing. WOW!! Springfield tavern relaunch was truly outstanding. The food was delicious, and the event was thoughtfully organised with fantastic activities for families, including a reptile show, slushies for the kids, and face painting. The venue itself was exceptionally clean and well-presented, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Tee and the entire team provided absolutely fantastic service—professional, friendly, and attentive throughout the event. I would highly recommend Springfield tavern to family and friends and look forward to visiting again. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Price per person: A$40–60
