Stan’s is usually perfect. But lately I’ve noticed the fries changed :( This is going to sound ridiculous, but ever since I was 12, my family and I have come to Stan’s for my birthdays (their food is great. Drinks are too, but the food makes it worth my wild). The sandwiches are MUAH, the ranch is elite, and the fries were genuinely one of the most fries-maxxing fries in Dallas. Now, the fries are giving McDonald’s. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a better version of McDonald’s fries! but the original Stan’s fries had character. They were part of the experience. I’ve attached a video of them here. The sandwiches and burgers are still prepared to perfection, and thankfully the ranch remains untouched (as it should). But the fries? I miss them every day. I yearn for them. So here’s my humble request: if y’all could tell me who used to supply the old fries, I would greatly appreciate your response. I know one Google review probably isn’t changing the menu, and that’s totally valid. This is primarily a bar after all, one that I enjoy with my friends when we’re back in town from college. But those fries were SO good, I just had to ask. You’ll always have my heart, and my money. I just really want to know where the fries are from :,) All the best! Easily one of the best spots to just kick back in Dallas. The atmosphere is super laid back—no pretension, no extra loud music you have to shout over, just a really cool, comfortable space. The lighting is low, and the whole place has this 'stay-all-night' feel to it. It’s perfect if you’re looking to grab a drink and actually hear the people you’re with. Definitely the kind of place where you can just show up in a hoodie and feel right at home. Low-key, cozy, and exactly what a local bar should be. CHEESE STICKS ARE FIRE. Price per person: $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

This past Saturday (4/26/25) was my 1st Cousin's Celebration of Life/Birthday Bash. His name was David Atwood and he was quite the boss fixture in the 70s, 80s & 90s in the bar business as he bartended and/or managed all (as he said) the hot clubs in Dallas. Mike McRae (owner) and Bob Meyers (general manager) made sure we had the best of everything for our event held in their private room. Every aspect of our event was flawless from the event space, delicious buffet setup including room for our cake, space for our sign in book with self serve water upon arrival, plenty of tables & chairs as well as bar space for our 75+ guests. They had a projector & screen for us to play our video. Mike and Bob made sure we have the best staff working our event too as most of the attendees including myself were service industry folks. I'd like to give thanks and credit to the excellent job that Doria (foodservice), Glenetta (waitress) and bartenders Travis, Riley and Jared provided for us. I highly recommend Stan's Blue Note for your event too! Many thanks again from me and my entire family for giving Cousin Dave such a great place for his send off.
