Only gave 1 star because I couldn’t give 0. The least welcoming pub in Whitby. Felt that the lady who was running it would have preferred to have had the company of the men that she was drinking with at the bar rather than tourists. Price per person: £20–30 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

Located in the heart of Whitby, The Star Inn is a popular spot with a lot to offer. While there are several establishments with similar names in the area (including the former Michelin-listed Star Inn The Harbour, which is now a Pescado Lounge), The Star Inn itself is known for a lively and welcoming atmosphere, particularly for those looking for a great night out. The pub is renowned for its vibrant live music scene, with music scheduled from Thursday to Sunday. This, combined with an open fire, creates a fantastic and cozy atmosphere that draws both locals and tourists. It's a great place to enjoy a wide range of drinks and listen to high-calibre local entertainers. The pub also has a famous jukebox for when the live bands aren't playing, and its lively atmosphere is particularly notable during popular events like the Whitby Goth Weekend and Folk Week. Overall, The Star Inn is an excellent choice for anyone looking to experience the lively side of Whitby's pub culture. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
