To the heroes who saved my life at Starbucks; please read this. On Friday, 13 June 2025, between 20:25 and 21:45, I collapsed inside the restaurant. I couldn’t move. I couldn’t talk. I couldn’t breathe. I was fading fast. The ambulance never came. But you all stepped up. Sona (staff), you gently asked if I was going to be okay with genuine empathy. Arlene (staff), you helped me sip water when I couldn’t lift my own hand just moments before I lost consciousness. Professor Abdulrahman (a regular), you saw me in distress and kept calling the ambulance nonstop, refusing to give up. An Egyptian man, panicked but brave, stayed close and did everything he could to keep me conscious. A young Kuwaiti man helped me communicate by blinking then carried my legs. An American military officer helped him carry my entire body into the car when I couldn’t move. And then there was you. A woman in a black dress with silky hair and tattoos on your arm. You didn’t know CPR. You didn’t have training. But in a room full of panic you became the leader. You took command. You organized everyone. You kept your voice steady while I was slipping away. You saved my life with nothing but courage, instinct, and heart. I will never forget you. You are my heroine. Please, if you’re any of these people, or if you witnessed what happened, contact me. Sona and Arlene have my WhatsApp number. You were all strangers. But that night, you were my lifeline. You reminded me that even when the system fails human beings don’t have to. Thank you for saving my life, and with it; the lives of the 22 souls who depend on me in this world.
