Went here with my partner for dinner. Skip the menu and go straight for the prix fixe. They give you a large portion of steak, plus fries, bread and a salad. The steak was superb and it comes with a seasoned butter sauce underneath. I wish the fries were a bit crispier, but they still tasted good. We were stuffed but managed to find room for the chocolate mousse dessert, which was also excellent. The service was spectacular, which I don't always find to be the case in DC. The manager even spoke to us for a while and mentioned that this is their spring/summer concept, while it turns into a Swiss restaurant called Stable for fall/winter. We plan to go back in the fall to see how the other concept stacks up. Price per person: $50–60 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

I was a huge fan of Stable, so I was very excited to try the owners’ new concept, Steak Frites DC. It definitely lived up to my high expectations! The oysters on the half shell were delicious, and so was the prixe fixe. The butter slowly melting under the steak was a thing of great beauty, and the frites were perfect. The drink menu is also fantastic— especially for fans of the espresso martini (several variants on the menu!) and lots of options for people that prefer wine! The staff is incredible— from the owners to the bartender to the waitstaff, the whole staff is very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend Steak Frites, and I’m looking forward to returning soon.
