If you’re looking for a refined lunch in the heart of the city but are a little short on time, Strangers Restaurant delivers such an experience, through their express lunch offering. From the moment you step into the dining room, the atmosphere is calm, polished, and quietly sophisticated. Floor-to-ceiling windows flood the space with natural light, creating a relaxed environment that feels a world away from the bustle outside. It’s the kind of setting that makes even a quick midday meal feel like a small luxury. Service is impressively well-paced: attentive without being intrusive and most importantly, efficient. We would like to acknowledge the outstanding service of Linda and Amabelle, who made us feel very much at home. Courses arrived promptly, making it ideal for anyone on a tight schedule, yet there’s no sense of being rushed. Presentation is understated but elegant—nothing overly fussy, just carefully plated meals that highlight local ingredients. Portions are satisfying without being heavy, striking that perfect midday balance where you leave feeling nourished rather than weighed down. Out vote as a standout dish was the prawn and scallop mousse (Chefs snacks). We both chose the Clondabilla Murray Cod for our main, it paired perfectly with the house Chardonnay (thanks for suggesting this Linda). Overall, Strangers Restaurant’s express lunch is a strong choice for anyone seeking a quality dining experience within a limited timeframe. Nara served us with a warm smile and made us feel genuinly welcome from the moment we arrived. She was friendly , attentive and ensured everything was perfect throughout the high tea experience. As usual, four of us had a lovely experience, celebrating a 90th birthday (on the actual day). I mentioned that the lady concerned was "in the red jacket" and not too soon after she received a plate with "happy 90th birthday" written on it, plus a little cake. It make her feel so special!!!!!
