There are plenty of tourists around in Jordan, but not a lot of western themed places along Temple Street which is why Studio Caffeine stood out for me. There are several around HK, but this by far the most popular of the bunch. Now that hotels are continually popping up all throughout Kowloon, it's only a matter of time that more places like this will eventually pop up around the surrounding areas. It's a narrow space, but the place is cute. Almost all the tables are accommodating to groups of 4 at best, but it's also ideal for solo diners or coffee dates. Like anything in Hong Kong, it's cramped and a bit tight but clean and bright. The initial draw to come here was for their *all day breakfast* which is essentially a UK brekkie set. The plates can be customized but they have a few set options that include vegetarian ($115HKD), Monster ($135HKD), and American ($125HKD). The latter is a little laughable because there's nothing about the platter that makes me think of anything American. Instead of hashbrowns, omelettes, white/wheat toast, or grits (#1), we have a plate that consists of: Nuremberg sausage, cherry tomatoes, bacon, baked beans, portobello with cheese, and smoked salmon. (#2) It was okay overall, but the portions were a bit modest at best. Their linguine plates are passable, but as expected are pricey at $135+ each. It's not bad food, but it's not even remotely close to the real thing. The same would apply to their bagels (#3), croissant sandwiches and paninis. I think the salads, especially the salmon caesar ($105HKD) and smoked duck breast with pear slices ($115HKD) are pretty good finds for the area. I would pass on their cream roll desserts but definitely make note of their monthly drink specials. The service varies, but is generally good. I've noticed that outside of the menu items, English within the staff really varies. The mornings are often the most relaxed times to be here and the coffee is usually better around this time. They accept credit cards, Octopus cards, and are located about 2 blocks from the C2 exit from the Jordan MTR station. ___________ (#1) Southerners, where you at? (#2) Let's rename this plate to "The Londoner." (#3) To New Yorkers reading this: fly back home and order it there instead.
