Roadside stops are supposed to be liminal spaces. They should be brief, predictable pauses in the larger narrative of a trip. You are looking for a familiar cadence: the scent of bread, the safety of a standardized menu, a functional pitstop. But this location feels less like a business and more like a set piece for a film about terminal decay. The dining area might have been passable in a low-light, soft-focus sort of way, but the bathroom was an utter disaster. It was not just a failure of sanitation. It felt like an act of hostility against the weary traveler, a truly grim, unedited failure that stays with you long after you have pulled back onto the asphalt. Save your patience and find a different exit.
