Showed up on time for our reservation and waited an additional 45 mins to get our table. I understand some people stayed longer than expected at their table, however, being in the restaurant industry myself, that is something to be expected of guests. Especially with limited seating. There were only two food carts and when they were reloaded, they went to the larger tables first, so our smaller table of 4 was neglected. We had one round of food, waited 45 minutes to see if a cart would come around again, but eventually gave up and went to a different restaurant. Overall, it was a pretty disappointing experience for someone who is an avid dim sum lover.

Food - came off the carts lukewarm or cold, and the flavours / textures were not good. For example, our deconstructed duck dumplings were cold and the longanisa spring roll tasted nothing like Filipino longanisa, just like fried ground beef and were too greasy. The soup dumplings were not well constructed. Every dish we tried was just ok to bad. It was disappointing. Ambiance - the nice way to describe the decor and music is "kitschy". I don't know what environment they were trying to replicate but it felt borderline offensive, reducing the culture down to a few stereotypes. Probably meant well but it seemed misguided. Otherwise interesting concept with the big tables, and the table settings were nice. Multiple parties were seated at each table, overall it worked out but sharing condiments was awkward. There was one small saucer each of soy sauce and vinegar at each table but it should have been provided per party. Service - good, friendly enough and prompt when they weren't pushing the $12 champagne/lychee liquor bubble tea. Overall A for effort but lacking in execution.

I was excited about the idea of dim sum at commonwealth and unfortunately was disappointed. The dim sum was cold, and mostly deep fried. The service was hit and miss. I wanted this to be so much better than it actually was.
