We ordered two Classic Harold Burger meals by phone with extra cheese, bacon and two dips. Considering the price, we expected good quality, fresh food and a meal that was worth the money. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a huge disappointment. The fries were the first letdown. They were already cold, soft and soggy when we picked up our order. I understand that takeaway fries can lose some crispiness, but these were far beyond that. They looked unappetizing and tasted even worse. The strong herb seasoning, especially the overwhelming rosemary flavor, completely ruined them for us. The portion was also extremely small, and the bag wasn't even properly filled. Since there was no real alternative to fries as the side dish with the meal, we had no choice but to take them. If fries are the standard side, they should at least be served hot, fresh and in a reasonable portion. Unfortunately, they were not. The burger itself was also cold by the time we ate it. A takeaway burger will naturally lose some heat, but it should still be warm enough to enjoy when you get home. Instead, it felt as if it had been sitting around for quite some time before it was handed to us. The bun was very hard and dry. The texture reminded us more of a firm ciabatta style bread than a soft burger bun. As a result, the entire burger was dry and chewy. Every bite required far too much chewing, and it simply lacked flavor and juiciness. Even the extra cheese and bacon couldn't save it. The dips were another disappointment. The portions were tiny and served in very small plastic containers. The Cajun mayo, in particular, was far too herb-heavy for our taste. The strong rosemary flavor completely overpowered everything else instead of complementing the meal. The service was fine, and of course friendly staff always adds to the overall experience. However, these days I consider friendly service to be the standard, not something that makes up for disappointing food. What disappointed us the most was the value for money. We are not expecting fine dining, but for this price we do expect hot fries, a warm and juicy burger, reasonable portion sizes and dips that actually enhance the meal. Unfortunately, none of that happened. We don't order from Sunset Boulevard very often because we like trying different burger places. That's exactly why it stood out to us how much the quality seems to have declined. We always associated Sunset Boulevard with better-than-average fast food, but after this experience we simply can't say that anymore. Overall, the price-to-quality ratio was very poor, and unfortunately this experience has convinced us not to order from Sunset Boulevard again.
