Sushi King is always an exceptional meal, and that comes with an exceptional wait time. They are, hands down, the best sushi in the area - and the business is run by a Husband and wife pair. Occasionally they are able to get help from younger relatives with waiting on tables, but it's in-between schoolwork, and there are still only the two handling the food. They rely on the income from sales to keep the place running, and do everything in their power to avoid losing those customers - sometimes that means waits end up longer than expected, but that isn't uncommon for the super small family-owned businesses in the area. Locals understand to expect to wait a prolonged period (1 hour+ for everything minimum, usually, as they're working takeout at the same time). If you plan accordingly, call early, and don't expect the food for 1.5 hours, then you're fine. Also be sure to see the menu in person, as the online menu is sometimes out of date. Sometimes there are small language barriers, but if you're patient there isn't generally an issue. This is a place you go to support a tiny local business, to get excellent sushi, and to take your time. It isn’t fast turnaround, and the quality doesn't suffer because it isn’t fast turnaround. If you need your sushi fast, look to chain establishments or Wegmans, but don't expect the quality to be nearly as good, or for the food to be super fresh and made to order. We've never had an issue with service, even if it does take a long time. They're very friendly, and they try to correct issues if and when they occur. High volume turnaround is difficult to manage without making mistakes, but they do their best. Take the opportunity to step back from the hustle and bustle and just exist, converse, etc for a bit. We ended up spending a lot per person, but also ended up with two meals each. It's still not inexpensive, but it is absolutely a fantastic treat once in a while - or maybe more frequently if you have the funds to spare. It's also more affordable if you don't go all out when you go. How you balance things is really up to you. And the food is so good that we forget to take pictures. Oops. Price per person: $70–80 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Vegetarian options: There are some vegetable rolls and vegetable tempura, but the majority do have fish. There is miso soup, and for a while they had salads - I'm unsure if they still do - but they would be small. The staff may be willing to modify a roll to specifications, but I haven't had cause to ask. Cucumber and avocado rolls are fairly commonplace, and if you eat eggs the tamago sashimi is light, cool, and has a delightfully sweet taste that is balanced out well with the umami from soy sauce. Dietary restrictions: This is probably not the best place to go if you have dietary restrictions that require limited risk of cross-contamination. Shellfish, soy, and fish are all prevalent. Egg, rice, and dairy are also used. There isn't space in the kitchen for these to be made with zero cross-contamination, so I'd recommend going elsewhere if this is a concern.
