Food was good, we got some light things but it filled us fast. Good pricing, polite staff. We got a few items that were really nice but the entree eggplant was not it. Tasted like oil. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: A$40–60 Vegetarian options: Theres plenty

Have only eaten there three times (dine in and once on uber delivery) Impeccable service, delicious Japanese food ! I loved the new sashimi tacos and lotus crisps ! They’re incredible: fresh, great textures and a little spice ! The katsu curries are great, the pickled side radish and spicy edamame and so are the soba noodles ! Can’t fault anything. Highly highly recommend this little gem. Thank you to the owners, restaurant staff too ! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

We found Sushidake a couple of months ago, & we were thrilled to have found food just as good as SushiCo in Katoomba... Because it was the same people & same food! But sadly, the business appears to have recently been sold. The food is not the same. It's not bad, but it's not the same, which means, it's not as good, because the bar here was incredibly high. I used to order a cup of green tea with my meal, & it was a nice, authentic bag of tea from Japan, with real flavour and complexity. Now they serve you a bag of Liptons. I'll let that sink in for a few. As an example, I would order a Don bowl with karrage chicken. They still serve the same dish, but its not the same. The chicken has an entirely different sort of crumb to the outside, producing a taste & texture that is entirely different. It is not the same dish. It's not bad. It's just nowhere near as good as the old recipe was. I did also note that the salad wasn't chopped very finely. I mean, I know that makes me sound like a snob.. But details matter at places that had earned a 4.9 star rating. Many little things done well is what makes good food the best, & those details are now sadly lacking. Everything is different here. They printed new menus. The table settings are different. The prices are different. The signage in Henry Street is gone. The service & food just isn't as good as it used to be, & sadly we have to say that we won't be eating here anymore. If you still want the best Sushi nearby that I know, if you can, make the trip to Katoomba for SushiCo, because Sushidake is not the same food anymore, & if you have expectations, prepare to be disappointed. You may have also noticed that the sign has now been placed directly in front of the shop.Our current menu includes real photos, making ordering clearer and more straightforward, so what arrives at the table better matches what customers expect.If you happen to see the previous owner, please pass on our thanks. We truly appreciate that she left the entire team with us, along with the recipes and suppliers. This has allowed our regular customers to continue enjoying the same experience, with the main visible change being the ownership on the menu.Many long-time customers still walk in and greet our staff by name, just as before, which genuinely means a lot to us.Regarding the chicken katsu and breadcrumbs you mentioned, I discussed this feedback with the team. We are all still here — the same people, the same chefs, the same standards, and the same supplier.Just like with our salmon, we consistently choose better quality ingredients, even when that means higher costs.In any case, thank you for visiting us.
