We ordered 3 different Tapas and one dinner which they gladly split into two plates for us. I was extremely impressed at the quality and consistency of each meal. Not over cooked or undercooked, not soggy or dry. The spices were very consistent throughout the entire meal which was refreshing. I absolutely would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a quality meal.

I had been to Taberna for a friends Birthday party a couple of months ago and had been wanting to bring my wife back ever since and it was just as good the second time around. We went on a Monday night and everything was so fresh and beautifully presented. We had octopus, empanadas, eggplant. All of it so delicious! Our waiter Mario was attentive and professional and made many great suggestions. The atmosphere has a fancy white tablecloth vibe but it is so welcoming and non-pretentious at the same time. I would highly recommend Taberna!

For a while we've been wanting to try this place. On a Friday nite it seemed every restaurant in Fairfield and Bridgeport had a wait - it was 730PM. This place did not. Was probably a sign. Beet salad was quite good. The antipasto plate was nicely presented and the meats were tasty. However the main courses were a disappointment (and expensive relative to taste..). The gnocchi was like eating a sponge - it was not good (Liana Trattoria's gnocchi was in a class above what we had.). The sauce - made from Angus beef - was flavorless. I had the lamb stew. I had read another review (after I ordered...) and have to confirm. It was quite flavorless despite having a good aroma upon presentation, there was barely any lamb - maybe the equivalent of a lamb chop of meat - the lamb was tender though...(extremely disappointed), and it had string beans which was weird. The Spanish rice on the side was flavorless as well. No mushrooms or anything -the sauce was watery. Really it was like Campbell's soup with some beans and a small piece of lamb cobbled together. Unfortunately this is borderline under 2 stars. I probably should have realized when it was the only restaurant without a wait. It was practically empty at 7PM on a Friday - heck - even Joe's Bar and Grill that nite was full - and that place has struggled for years.
