Taco Bell x KFC The Night the Grease Fought Back Thursday May twenty first twenty twenty six around ten at night my family and I were headed home starving. The kind of hungry where you don’t even talk, you just breathe and hope food magically appears. We pulled into what we thought was Taco Bell. Technically it was, but it was one of those Taco Bell mixed with KFC situations. A cute idea on paper, but baby this child was born with complications. We ordered everything you get when you’re hungry enough to fight a bear. The munch box, chalupas, cinnamon twists, about five rounds of them, and we were ready to feast. We didn’t even drive home. We parked, opened the bags, and dug in like it was Thanksgiving. The moment we took the first bite, time froze. I started dancing around the car like my spirit left my body. We all looked at each other to confirm we were tasting the same thing. This wasn’t stale. This wasn’t old. This tasted like they used the same grease for every single item in that kitchen for seven straight months and never changed it once. Everything had a greasy ear wax taste. Don’t ask me how I know what ear wax tastes like. Just trust me when I say it was disgusting. Naturally, we did what any normal hungry family would do. We took another bite because surely the first bite was a fluke caused by hunger and dry mouth. The second bite confirmed it. This food was cooked in oil that has been sitting longer than some people’s relationships. The aftertaste was bitter. The food had no flavor. It couldn’t. It was drowned in old oil. You could tell the fried chicken had been swimming in that grease all day and then they used the same oil to cook the tacos, chalupas, cinnamon twists, and probably the napkins too. Nothing tasted like food. Everything tasted like old fryer oil and sadness. I’m sure when they combined KFC and Taco Bell someone thought they were creating a beautiful hybrid. But this baby came out with serious health problems. If you have ever fried chicken you know the oil takes over the whole kitchen. If you don’t clean it everything tastes like dirty oil. And that is exactly what happened here. Taco Bell is supposed to be a good late night muncher. A safe place. A comfort. But if you still ordered that and you couldn’t taste something was wrong with it your taste buds are dead and they need CPR immediately. If I could give this place a negative five I would. Me and my wife and my son ordered from KFC and taco bell. Her her chicken was dry and old and so was my son's and I ordered a number 9# was missing the crunch wrap and taco was old and stale. This is by far thee worst location in the Colton area. There night shift staff is nothing but high-schoolers who don't give a damn about people's orders and what they pay for. They need to hire more mature staff and get rid of the adolescence. Food: 1 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 1
