Slowly simmered meatball soup--potatoes, carrots, chayote, rice, onion, and cilantro--each spoonful seasoned not just with spices, but with generations of tradition. It's the kind of dish that pulls you backward through time. The scent alone transports me--like a VHS tape sliding into a VCR, grainy footage of my childhood flashing through my mind as the steam rises from the bowl. It's a home movie for the senses.
