I'm updating my review. I purchased a cake for a baby shower. Marble cake with chocolate frosting and very berry filling. All I can say is WOW! Absolutely delicious!!!! This will not be my last cake from this wonderful place. Went into this very cute shop to discuss ordering a cake and walked out with the most delicious cinnamon bun (I should have bought more) and cranberry scone! The gentleman at the counter was super friendly, greeting customers as we talked, which all seemed to be regulars! We will be back for more and yes, we will be placing a cake order Meal type: Other Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Vegetarian offerings: Menu is all vegetarian Vegetarian options: Actually its vegan Dietary restrictions: All dairy free

Food was great and in general the cafe has a cute hipster vibe. We had the caprese sandwich, Reuben sandwich, Mac and cheese and potato salad to share. Based on another customer's review it seemed like there was a kids version of the Mac and cheese (not spicy), but that wasn't the case - it's the same as the main side, so bear in mind if your littles are sensitive to any spice. All the food was flavourful. Unfortunately our experience with the food was mired by the mediocre service. No greeting when we walked in (odd since we saw them sometimes greeting others) - no mention of even "go ahead and sit anywhere" (which we did). When we asked to use a washroom a staff member said "washrooom... you mean a bathroom?...no there's no bathroom here" (ok word semantics?? sorry I'm Canadian). I asked again if they knew of any bathroom in the area and the two servers stared at me deadpan and said "No. you'll need to go to another business or establishment and ask them to use their bathroom". We have a pre-K and an infant. never any help when we entered (we're pretty self sufficient generally so we're able to set ourselves up no problem). when we realized we'd need to trek out for the washroom, I went back to our car to get the stroller for our quest (I needed to change the infants diaper). I'm also in the midst of a miscarriage so not having access to a bathroom to manage bleeding is a bit of an issue. Fortunately the theatre nearby took pity on me and the baby and the concessions staff very kindly told me I could use their bathroom (despite it being against their policy to allow their bathrooms for public use). to their kind individual - you are an absolute star and I wish we were visiting to watch a film and not just stopping by the city for lunch. back to the restaurant the baby and I go, dad and brother are waiting for us with partially eaten food. as I struggle to reenter the cafe, now with a stroller after our bathroom quest, the staff behind the counter just stared at me and kept chatting amongst themselves. cool I got it. families aren't super welcome here..? sorry maybe I'm used to staff in other establishments who at least offer to help with the door.. or offer to at least point a mom in the right direction. now I did a search through their reviews on the bathroom debacle and the owner mentions its stated on their website that theres no washroom and that they expect guests to plan their bathroom visits before or after visiting accordingly. interesting - if this is such a big deal (I know many folks need to use the bathroom when enjoying a meal or a drink or taking a rest at any establishment) - then you'd think they'd put clear signage up somewhere by the front door.. or inside.. or by the counter where one orders, saying "no customer bathroom available" so there's no disappointment and no confusion. I think more than one customer might rethink sitting in (or even ordering) if they knew, since they'd probably want to spend food or beverage money at an establishment that Does provide customer bathroom use. anyway - I had to look all around the restaurant just to make sure I wasn't missing a big glaring sign. nope. zero signage. so here's my recommendation to management - have a clear sign by the front door, and by the cash register that there's no customer bathroom - upfront, so there's no frantic scramble begging other establishments nearby after a customer has already placed their order with you and paid. (it seems kind of shady in my opinion Not to have that stated upfront). the theater literally has multiple signs posted on their front doors stating their bathroom policy. sharing photos of all the ample signage the restaurant has about food allergies, tray / garbage disposal, and ads by the front. clearly they aren't minamlists and know how to post proper signage also heard another customer stating they'd grab a fork.. but then joking "nvm guess not there's no forks) - and also no staff around at that point. recommend folks come here for takeout (skip the tip), and steer clear of sitting in. Take Two Café is amazing! It’s completely vegan, which has been such a lifesaver for me since being diagnosed with Alpha-Gal Syndrome and not being able to eat mammal. I went with someone who isn’t plant-based and they loved it too. They said they’d have no idea it was vegan! So happy to have a place like Take Two. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $10–20 Recommendation for vegetarians: Highly recommend
