Lovely cafe with a fun small menu, but well executed. The atmosphere was lovely on a bright Saturday morning and great for people watching. Service was good as we were sat right up front of the door. Lots of outdoor seating and indoor. The chili eggs were tasty but l felt left it lacked a bit of heat from the chili, it’s more on the sweet/mild side. The Peruvian chicken burger was packed with flavor and absolutely a top notch dish, highly recommend this for lunch. Coming back for this. Both drinks tasted really good but unfortunately did not last more than a few sips, small cups, chock full of large ice cubes, and vanilla foam on top which probably was about a 1/4th cup of actual drink. Very poor value for the price of $12. This alone knocked down a what could’ve been a 5 star rating. Would’ve much prefer the more common tall glass for both the matcha and iced tea. The prices are up there. Just under $80 for 2 plates and 2 drinks is a bit steep given the portions, with one being eggs. The quality is there though. Would highly recommend. To management- please improve drink portions as that’s the only thing holding me back from returning more often. Price per person: A$40–60 Food: 4

Cafe is busy on weekends so you expect a delay with your order. Would be ideal if there were enough ingredients in the kitchen as two meals had to be change due to no ingredients available. Value for money 6.5/10, you could do better than one piece of bacon for $5 to improve value for money too. Meal type: Breakfast Price per person: A$20–40 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

This is the second time I've been to Talulah in as many weeks, and I came back for the same dish. As I was seated, I was told that the new spring menu had just been released, so I was immediately disappointed. But little did I know that the chilli scrambled eggs I wanted, were still on the menu, but only better. I was skeptical because you can't improve on perfection. How wrong I was. The new chilli scramble now has even more flavour and a delightfully sweet drizzle. Incredible. I paired breakfast with a good coffee before the eggs, and a watermelon frappe with the meal. I ate it all as slowly as possible. My sincere compliments to Jack, Matt and all the staff, my entire breakfast experience was the best I've ever had. Your attitude to food and service is second to none in Newcastle. I tried to leave a tip but your eftpos machine wouldn't let me. I will be back and look forward to exploring more of the menu.
