Gotta try the 2 pastas + bottle of wine = $45 special! The selection of pastas is small, but both Rigatoni and Lumache Nero we ordered were cooked perfectly al dente. My wife and I both liked the texture of Lumache better. The chickpeas with lemon sauce was refreshing as appetizer. Unfortunately the focaccia was a bit dry and cold at the bottom. Felt like it was made in a big batch and not quite reheated through before serving. All in all, a good place for pasta aficionados. Food was decent and the amount was quite right. The price is just the way how Redmond and Kirkland area works. Still it seems like a great place to hang out since the atmosphere was great and chill. I recently went to the Tavolata in Capitol Hill and absolutely loved the pasta. I was excited to see that a new location opened closer to me in Redmond but ended up being so disappointed. I ordered the same bucatini pasta that I had in Capitol Hill and it tasted completely different. The menu said that it had guanciale in it (my favorite) but I could have sworn they used pancetta instead. On top of that there was no flavor. It tasted like butter noodles with pancetta on top. I also ordered the focaccia which was delicious. Cocktails were also great. A few weeks later I decided to give Tavolata Redmond a second chance. I ordered the same focaccia but it was wildly different from the one I ordered during my first visit. Again flavorless. I also ordered the gnocchi which was ok. For the prices the food should be way better. Go to the one in Capitol Hill. Would not recommend the Redmond location.
