I have been a Tavolata customer for many years and upon visiting the Stone Way location yesterday to get my favorite Italian dish in all of Seattle the Gnocchi Alla Romana I was told they are no longer making to it! It has been a staple of my dining out in Seattle for close to a decade. It breaks my heart that they would so easily discard such a unique and amazing dish. As long as it remains off of the menu I will no longer be a customer despite the amazing and kind service staff. All the numbers of this review are based on them not having this dish, subject to change if they bring it back in a jif. Price per person: $20–30 Food: 2 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 3

We are constantly changing our menus to showcase what is at its peak freshness in whatever season we are in, and to bring the best of the best to our guests. We do have staples like the pappardelle and the rigatoni, and are so elated that you loved the Gnocchi Alla Romana so much! Service was so good! We didn’t have to wait for anything or ask for our water to be refilled. Friendly and nice. Loved the fresh pasta Price per person: $40–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Tavolata Stoneway. Our group visited this location three times in 2022. Sample size 12 entrees. Undercooked pasta EVERY TIME. This is not simply some random error in food preparation. This is a FEATURE of the pasta dishes created by the chef at this restaurant. On our last visit we returned two dishes of spaghetti and meatballs due to undercooked pasta. Fifteen minutes later we received replacement dishes with... UNDERCOOKED pasta! This is excellent service - we were not billed for the two dishes - but unbelievably poor execution. Further, the two large meatballs were overhandled to the point of approaching toughness, and the sauce brought back childhood memories of chef Boyardee spaghetti and meatballs in a can. The huge serving of coarsely grated cheese mounded atop the pile of pasta could not conceal this chef's creative malfeasance in the creation of a dish that is truly worthy of a Denny's. Oh yes, if you wanted a crust of bread with your pasta, that would be an additional $7 - and that comes free at Denny's. You'd like a side salad with your meal, you say? Why that's only an additional $15. At $31 for undercooked pasta, two mediocre meatballs, and truly forgettable and flavorless sauce, Tavolata earns the ribbon for Seattle's most overvalued and poorly executed classic Italian entree.
