Tengu is truly a hidden gem. For those visiting town midweek (Tuesday-Thursday), finding a seat without a reservation is quite easy. However, from Friday to Sunday, the place is bustling with activity. The ambiance is warm and inviting, adorned with captivating drawings and artwork crafted by one of the talented cooks. Although the owners' English is limited, they more than make up for it with their patience, warm smiles, and enthusiastic service. The fish offerings at Tengu are exceptional, showcasing a range of flavors that are all equally delightful. Not to be overlooked are their fries, which, by American standards, are arguably the best in Japan. For those with a penchant for wings, the soy honey-glazed variety is a must-try. To complete your experience, don't miss out on their selection of sake. Tengu stands out as a culinary treasure—make sure to visit if you're in the vicinity.
