We went out with another couple for restaurant week. Upon walk in the decor is very inviting. The bar appears to be made out of reclaimed lumber. The menu for restaurant week seemed limited at first glance. But to our surprise the salad appetizers were very flavorful. There were three choices for the main meal. We ordered each of the choices. The flavors were spot on and portions were filling. Then came desert. Couldn't have end our evening any better. I must mention that our waiter Greg was very attentive always filling our water and wine glass as well as serving our meals in a timely manner and asking that everything was ok. Would definitely recommend. Will be back. To end, after having the dining experience we had I am confused by the poor reviews.

My friend and I go out to eat once a month. We thoroughly enjoy exploring new restaurants. Both of us enjoy spending the time together as well as the experience, and although it can be pricey at times, we save up for the occasion. We were very much looking forward to going to The Artist's Palate and had been talking about it for months. Finally, we had tickets to a great show at the Bardavon and this was our time to go. We got there at 7:00 for a reservation. It was a Friday night. They looked busy, but this fact does not excuse poor service. The plates were priced on the higher end. We waited a good 20 minutes to receive our drinks. Once we finished our drinks, we sat there...waiting for our food. Finally, after a full hour, a gentleman server approached our table and saw that we had been waiting. He brought us another round of drinks. Our server seemed agitated when we finally flagged her down and asked for bread. We received the bread after 1 hour and 10 minutes of waiting, and only after we had asked for it.. Soon after, our appetizer arrived. Finally, after about 1 1/2 hrs, we received our food, after explaining to the server that we needed to go and that we had to cancel our course plates. We missed the opening act of the show and barely made it for the main act. We had to rush to make it on time, which really impacted a night that should have been otherwise enjoyable. Additionally, the brussell sprout appetizer was not very plentiful and most of the brussells had fallen apart. I ordered the ricotta gnocchi and although it was tasty, it was a little too salty (and I put salt on everything). Both of us were looking forward to dessert, but we had no time for it. When we received the bill, nothing was knocked off for the wait and inconvenience. It was a very high bill and the cost did not at all reflect our experience. The male server explained that the female server was new. A good server would have at least contacted the manager to explain the inconvenience so that he/she could have shared their apologies. What a disappointing experience and a waste of money.
