My friends and I showed up a few minutes after they closed. One of the employees came out to ask if we wanted to purchase some donuts. The only one they had left was vanilla. So, I came in and purchased the last 10. It made that day even better knowing we were able to get some treats on such a rainy day! Thank you again! They were delicious! I was a huge fan of Rabble Rise and I drove an hour and a half from Pennsylvania just for their breakfast sandwiches but last time I visited I think will be my last time. Not sure if ownership changed when they became Montclair Bread Company or if they just got lazy. First off the place looked a mess, Halloween decorations in December, rotten pumpkins, a crappy table in the corner with a mess of spilled sugar packets and a weeks worth of crumbs. My spouse and I order two sandwiches, two donuts and two drinks. The donuts were good, the drinks were alright if you want your latte to taste like hot milk and nothing else, and the sandwiches never came. We were sitting there for 30+ minutes the very unbusy shop while the girl with the synthetic 613 stood around and laughed with her 2 other coworkers. We were watching them not make the sandwiches for so long I assumed they had a kitchen in the back, but no, about 25 minutes in I see miss thing slowly walk over and start assembling a sandwich while her hair dangles inches from the cutting board. After a few minutes of that and she comes out and hands the sandwich to the other couple who were clearly already waiting in the shop for a while before we even got there. No “sorry for the wait” to them, no “yours are coming right up” to us, just “here’s the first sandwich ” to the other couple. At this point I’m tired and I’ve decided to cut my losses and avoid chewing on a plastic strand of hair in my sandwhich so I go up to the register and ask for a refund on the sandwiches so we can just leave. Miss thing stomps on over and takes over the register from the other employee and says “next time, you need to tell me you want a refund immediately after you order”. Like girl??? How was I supposed to now you were gonna kiki with your coworkers for 25 minutes before lifting a finger. She claimed she had just finished my first sandwich at that point but I didn’t say anything just got my refund and left. Maybe I’ll be back for donuts but definitely not a sandwich or drink. If I see that 613 again I’m turning around and walking out the door. Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
