Great place for great cocktails - a rarity in Moab lol this place is a dive bar and is one of the only places open past 9 in town. Def coming back!

Only gave one star because I had to. One of the only places open in this town past 10. I called ahead to make sure their kitchen was open and was told the kitchen closed around 11:30. That was the only information i received. Once I got there the man at the front told me I could not come in without an id. He asked if I wanted to speak to the bar tender and I said yes because I figured she was the employee I spoke to over the phone. She came up to my bf (21) and I (20) and was immediately rude for no reason. I proceeded to ask her if we could just order to go and she kind of interrupted me basically saying that I could not be in there but he (my bf) could order while I wait outside. I'm not leaving a review because of the policy itself. I understand that it's a bar. I'm leaving this review because of how the bartender treated me. It was extremely off-putting and borderline aggressive. I know I am young but I have been in the restaurant industry for almost over five years. Never once in my life have I felt inclined to leave a bad review but the treatment I received was so odd I truly felt as though I had to say something. The man who was checking id's wasn't rude and again, I did not have an issue with the policy itself. I do however hope that if someone were to call looking for food, the employee on the other end would mention the age restriction. And to the bartender- Please consider being nicer to people. I've been in the same industry for a while now. There's no excuse for how you spoke to us.

I have forever been a fan of Woody's Tavern. It is a great bar scene. However, the hostess ruined this place for myself and my entire group. We were informed that we needed masks at the bar. I, of course, agree with COVID restrictions. However, we took them off to drink our beers. The rude hostess then came up and informed us that we have to keep our masks on at all times. We were unsure how we were suppose to drink our beverages while having a mask on. She then informed us that they don't care if we have masks anywhere else, only at the bar. We then went outside so that we could drink our beers at a socially distanced table. The lights were completely off outside causing a safety issue. When asked if we could turn the lights on so that we could see we were informed that if the lights spontaneously combusted a bartender is not outside so they could not extinguish it. We did not realize that there was faulty electrical work and simply wanted to be able to see so that we did not trip and fall. We would gladly change bars but the options in Moab are slim. The hostess was very rude from start to finish. The bar staff were great. But the hostess ruined it for us.
