Haven't had a good chippy dinner since moving into the area so we thought we'd give this plaice a try :) I ordered a medium cod and small chip and got two "small cods" as they didnt have a medium. Nothing small about either portions! Glorious and great value for money. The size of the curry sauce was like a coffee in a sports direct mug for comparison! It was exactly how chippy curry sauce should be! Would highly recommend!! Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Recently moved to Colchester from London. Was very spoilt for great fish and chips in London. Being trying to find a great fish and chip restaurant for a long time in Colchester and nothing was up to scratch and didn't like the food. I had almost given up. But that changed today when I visited The Codfather. They served a great cod and chips. The small cod was huge and the chips were really well cooked. My wife had muchy peas and I had curry sauce and both were delicious. Food was fantastic and the young lady serving was very kind and gave great customer service. She offered me a meal deal which I didn't know about. Will definitely be going back! Service: Take out Meal type: Lunch Price per person: £1–10 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Small Cod & Chips with a 4oz Tub of Mushy Peas or Curry Sauce
