The entire experience was awful. Our group has previously stayed at the Colliefields many times. We knew the owners had changed since our last stay, but we were extremely surprised at how terrible the accommodation and service has become. When we arrived at the agreed upon time (5pm), the man at desk was surprised to see us, he clearly had no idea we had booked and paid for 3 rooms for 2 nights. The rooms were not prepared. We waited an hour for the rooms to be made up. When we were finally given keys, one of the rooms did not have pillows or towels, which we had to request. The shared bathroom was not cleaned, the was faeces in the toilet and hair on the floor and in the shower. The lights did not work in one of the toilets, the hot water in the only shower took 30 minutes to properly heat up. In one of the rooms the split system heater had a power cord dangling from it and was plugged into the power point by an extension cord. The cord fell out during the night and the heating subsequently turned off, it was 0 degrees that night. When we requested an access code to get back into the accommodation after hours we were told there wasn't one and that the doors would be unlocked. This was not the case. Another guest gave us the access code to get back in after hours. The hotel (if you can call it that!) is in general poor condition, the carpets were dirty, the paint peeling off the walls, the bedding was flimsy and thin, the whole place smells like cooking oil from the restaurant/cafe below, there were no bins anywhere (in the rooms or the bathroom). The management should shut the Colliefields down and fix it up before allowing guests to book again. It would not pass a health and safety inspection. DO NOT BOOK HERE. Service: 1
