Well, what can I say! What a beautiful place, beautiful location and the staff were amazing! Especially, Jane, We hope we got your name right! So helpful and able to advise on the best places to go. Food was lovely as was the room. Would definitely recommend a stay here. Our dog Boo loved it too! Especially the squirrels!

What an incredible experience we had from start to finish. 6 of us visited for my Dads 80th birthday whilst visiting the area for Thirsk Races. The pub is located in a pretty village and nicely presented. The interior of the pub was welcoming, cosy and tastefully decorated. The staff were fantastic - professional and friendly. The food was absolutely outstanding. Every plate we had from starters to dessert was absolutely delicious, high quality food. There were absolutely no complaints about anything at all...the whole party agreed that it was the best food we had ever eaten in a pub, and whilst it is 3 hours from our home we would all consider staying in the area again, just to eat there on another occasion! Thank you to all staff for an amazing experience

An unforgettable experience – the best pub we’ve ever visited! We visited The Crown Inn, Roecliffe with my girlfriend’s family for lunch on Tuesday, and we can honestly say it was one of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had – if not the best. From the moment we arrived, every single member of staff made us feel genuinely welcome. The customer service was exceptional from start to finish, and the food was absolutely outstanding. We’ve eaten at countless pubs and restaurants over the years, including many in London, and this place is in a league of its own. One of the highlights of our meal was the homemade focaccia bread. It was honestly some of the best bread we’ve ever tasted. We were all talking about how incredible it was throughout the meal. The experience didn’t end there. The following morning, on our drive back to London, we couldn’t stop thinking about that focaccia, so we made a special trip back to The Crown Inn hoping we could buy some to take home. Although they weren’t even open yet, we met Jane and Paulo, the chef, in the garden. We explained how much we’d loved our visit and how we’d come back especially for the bread. Without hesitation, Paulo went inside and came back with a whole loaf of their homemade focaccia. Not only that, he took the time to explain exactly how he makes it. We insisted on paying him, but he simply smiled and said, “It’s my gift to you.” We were genuinely speechless. That level of kindness, generosity and passion is something you very rarely come across these days. It wasn’t just about the bread – it was about how they made us feel as customers. What makes this story even better is that we found The Crown Inn completely by chance. We hadn’t planned to eat there, yet it turned out to be the best pub experience we’ve ever had. Days later, we’re still talking about it. A huge thank you to Jane, Paulo and the entire team for making us feel so welcome and for creating such a memorable experience. The care, pride and genuine hospitality you all showed is something that is becoming increasingly rare, and it certainly didn’t go unnoticed. You’ve gained customers for life. We’ll be making the journey back without hesitation, and we’ll be recommending The Crown Inn to all of our family, friends and anyone looking for an exceptional place to eat. Thank you once again for such an unforgettable experience. We genuinely can’t wait to come back. Kaz, Megan and Family :)
