Fantastic experience Took grandma and grandpa along with their grandson. Everyone enjoyed the food. Copious portions and very elegant. Warm and professional service from young South African waiter. Strolled in the beautiful gardens afterwards.

Afternoon tea at Ashford Castle has been on my bucket list for years, and it absolutely did not disappoint. The teas were fantastic (we had Rooibos Chocolate Truffle, Earl Grey, Irish Whiskey-Cream, Morgentau, and Darjeeling -- my favorite was the Earl Grey), but the food was simply incredible. The tea sandwiches satisfied my savory tooth, the scones were peak comfort food, and the desserts were decadent and beautiful. I was even presented with a birthday panacotta! Our server was wonderful and I wished I remembered his name. (But every single one of the staff at Ashford was phenomenal.) I'll be counting down the days until I can come back. :)

They say The Connaught Room at Ashford Castle offers the best afternoon tea in all of Ireland — I’d go further. It’s the best I’ve experienced in Ireland, Canada, the USA, Australia, and Spain (and I’ve had some remarkable luxury afternoon teas in all of those countries). The service was exceptional — warm, personable, and attentive without being intrusive. Every staff member made me feel welcome and cared for, elevating the whole experience. The food was exquisite: fresh, beautifully presented, and bursting with flavor. Every bite was a little masterpiece. And for the level of quality and setting, the price felt surprisingly modest — the value is outstanding. The tea selection is equally impressive. I highly recommend the jasmine pearls tea — their most expensive blend — which was delicate, fragrant, and worth every sip. If you love afternoon tea or simply want to experience the pinnacle of hospitality and culinary refinement, The Connaught Room at Ashford Castle is an absolute must.
