I visited The Drop Inn at The Last Drop Village and honestly, it was a massive let‑down. I went in based on the glowing online reviews, but what we experienced was nowhere near what this place claims to be — especially for a venue that hosts weddings, big events, and pulls in serious money every month. The menu was limited and overpriced. My son’s roast beef was a complete disappointment: watery gravy and meat full of fat and sinew. My fish and chips looked huge at first glance, but that was just the batter — a thick, greasy shell hiding a small fillet inside. The chips were the only redeeming part. Paying £42 for two meals and two drinks for that level of quality is outrageous. Inside, the atmosphere was non‑existent. Bleak décor, no personality, nothing inviting. The courtyard outside was nicer, but the rickety, wobbly tables made eating feel like a balancing act rather than a relaxing meal.The staff were lovely — genuinely the best part of the visit — but it’s baffling that a venue making thousands every month can’t get the basics right. A simple, well‑executed bistro with a well stocked and thoughout menu shouldn’t be this difficult. Would I return? No. Would I recommend it? Absolutely not. Bolton has plenty of fantastic places to eat, and this one sits firmly at the bottom of my list. They seriously need to up their game. Food: 1 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 2 Price per person: £40–50

The cheese pie was insanely good, great portion size! And the apple and cinnamon crumble with ice cream was exquisite! (The veg was a bit bla - tasted a bit soggy and the gravy was very watery).
