Lamprais was their special go to meal. What we got was a series of stomach aches from ash plantains which were so sour unlike any we had tasted - possibly spoiled in hindsight! The meats were quite flavorful. The rest of this meal was not only not worth it as the rice was basic, onion mix was just too abundant (cheapest item), and the egg was just thrown in oil and thrown in the packet. A let down overall - too much hype and the P&S packet is way better as a comparison and we never got sick eating that. Service level sucks here be prepared to waste both time and energy along with your money! Food: 1 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 4 Service: Takeaway Meal type: Other Price per person: Rs 1,500–2,000

Came here to celebrate an anniversary. The place is absolutely gorgeous. Whether to come as a single diner or as a group, the Escape Café caters to all. The food was a bit too oily but nevertheless very tasty and the portions are generous. Not sure if the staff that served us was new but he seemed nervous about speaking in English (we switched to Sinhala, btw, but he kept responding to us in English even though he spoke to his colleagues in Sinhala) and had to keep going back to check on information about the food. Those 2 things aside the staff were very professional and ensured that I had a great time. I do recommend dining here.
