Before placing my order I called up and they confirmed approx 30 mins delivery time so I went ahead and ordered online. After one hour I called back and apparently it was on its way. 20 mins later it was still on its way - but at the same time begging bagged up, which is impossible. After another 20 mins, it had left and was on the way AGAIN. It would have been a lot better to be honest as opposed lie to get the order in and make us wait not far off 2 hours. Once the food eventually arrived, it was all lukewarm and chips were cold, no doubt as it was probably taken on tour around Ware for a long time before coming. The Cod Roe looked like someone had eaten it - it was also overcooked and dry. The Saveloy needed to be boiled for longer - it was rock hard so didn’t feed my little boy his food. The loaded fries were missing spring onion. The staff don’t seem to know what is happening in the shop. All seems a bit confusing. Sadly, I won’t be ordering again, I would love to support my local businesses but it’s not possible when you wait almost 2 hours for sub standard barely warm food. Our new go to for fish and chips -gluten free option in Ware. Compared to the other local establishment we were going to, here the large portions are more substantial when it comes to the fish and chips. The price is also more affordable making this a more viable regular option. The special offers on certain days are also great. Two thumbs up from us fish and chip connoisseurs Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I'd had a long day at work and walking back from Ware train station, I really fancied chips and gravy. I'm an ex northerner and I was delighted that the Lighthouse offered gravy! The staff were lovely and provided conscientious service with a smile. I had my craving fulfilled and yes, you made your best gravy
