I stayed at The Lodge as a solo traveller and immediately felt very safe. The staff were so lovely and friendly with nothing too much trouble. My room was spacious, clean and well-equipped. Very comfy bed and amazing shower that was very welcomed after sticky sandy days on the beach. The road can be a little noisy at night, especially with the windows open in the summer. I found it calmed down after about midnight. The location is fantastic for beach-goers; just five minutes down the hill to Old Hunstanton beach which is beautiful and dog friendly (I met many excellent dogs during my stay at The Lodge!). The Old Town Cafe gets busy but is worth it if you don't mind the queue - I had a lovely bacon sandwhich that really hit the spot. There is a convenience store just next door to the hotel which has all the essentials (except medicines like paracetamol, fyi). But as a city-dweller I had to remember it closed at 5pm and make sure I had everything I needed beforehand! For more substantial needs you will need to walk 30 mins into town or drive for about 5 mins to Sainsburys or Tescos in Hunstanton. The restaurant at the hotel was lovely and very good food/drink. I didn't eat breakfast though as £18 for breakfast felt too far for me; not sure many people could eat £18 worth of breakfast! My biggest highlight would be that when I had to leave two nights early due to an emergency, I was only charged for the nights I stayed. I was fully ready and expecting to pay for the full booking. Thank you for this kindness, I will remember it!
