Touché, Denny’s. Touché. We thought we were going to try “The Meltdown.” Nope. Instead, we arrived to discover a Denny’s. So we checked the directions again, and sure enough, “The Meltdown” is apparently inside the Denny’s. They weren’t lying, I definitely had a small meltdown of my own. We got catfished by Denny’s. Since they already got us through the door, we figured we might as well stay and eat. About half the staff seemed more interested in talking amongst themselves while the other half worked hard trying to keep things moving. It wasn’t until I started seating myself that someone finally told us they would seat us. About ten minutes later, one of the employees who was actually hustling rushed over to clear a table and get us seated while two younger employees continued the hard work of avoiding work. That said, our waitress and the young man helping her were great, and the food was exactly what you want from a 2AM Denny’s breakfast craving. Altogether: good for a Denny’s, terrible for “The Meltdown.”
