Disappointing Experience at Mod Pizza and Deli in Pittsboro I recently visited Mod Pizza and Deli in Pittsboro, under its new ownership, and unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired. The food quality was commendable, particularly the excellent pizza offerings, but several aspects of the establishment fell short of expectations. One notable downside was the overpriced beer selection, which detracted from the overall value of the dining experience. Additionally, the decision to start charging $5 for pool use, which was previously complimentary, felt unnecessary, although not a deal-breaker. Service at Mod Pizza and Deli was another major letdown, with extreme delays during peak hours due to a lack of sufficient staff and the unorthodox ordering system for food on the 21 + side. This significantly impacted the overall enjoyment of the meal and left a lot to be desired in terms of customer satisfaction. Furthermore, I was taken aback by the demeanor of the owner, who came across as unfriendly, unsmiling, and frankly snobby. This attitude detracted from the welcoming atmosphere one would expect from an establishment and left a negative impression on me. In conclusion, while Mod Pizza and Deli in Pittsboro offers great food, particularly in the pizza department, the overall experience was marred by overpriced items, slow service, confusing policies, and unwelcoming staff. Unless significant improvements are made in these areas, I would hesitate to recommend this establishment to others.

Sadly, The Mod ain't what it used to be. The Reuben sandwich, my mainstay there for years, was pitiful. The amount of meat had been reduced by half, the cheese was still cold and the bread was stale. The accompanying potato salad was too salty.
