Heres the real deal with this place: The owner shows poor judgement and, instead of acknowledging or fixing, she blames kids and families. Here's a few examples I saw with my own eyes. Tara (owner) gave completely unsolicited advice to one of the moms of a 2 year old to "get your son tested". It is not her place to say this, especially without any tact, and in front of others and the kid. Another example- Tara brought her personal dog to one of the art classes for toddlers. Did not ask any parents or kids if it was okay to bring a dog. Dog was running around like crazy, humped one kid, and of course some kids were scared/distracted/crying. A mom told Tara her concern and tara's response..."well your daughter cries in every class". Tactless, again. Further, she kicked her out of peach pitt for raising the concern. I brought up concerns, such as her using lead based paint, the dog, and her talking badly about people. She had a nasty response. You are in the business of people and children. Please show some tact. Another reason my family won't be returning here is because Tara makes it a habit to talk badly about people behind their back. She spoke poorly of the art teacher, did the same for other local businesses, and talks bad about some moms behind their back in front of others. It's a small town, Tara. As a fellow business owner it's unkind to talk badly about other businesses but it seems to fit your narrative of point and blame. These are just a few examples. If anyone wants to see the nasty emails she sends blaming kids and talking badly about people, shoot me a message. She will more than likely reply to this review with "you were asked to leave" - which is not true, or, "its sad when someone leaves a negative review", rather than acknowledging or address or owning any issues.

It’s unfortunate when someone needs to create new Google accounts to come up with inaccurate negative reviews. We can appreciate you’re a bit bitter because you were asked not to return. Our positive, happy space isn’t for everyone. Be well.

My sons have enjoyed many classes at the Peach Pit from Pokeman club, Chess club, special events around the holidays , birthday parties. Our town is so lucky to have such an establishment run by Tara where the kids can even just go and hangout and play with their friends and feel independent while enjoying some yummy food! The Peach Pit is a real gem in Rumson and our community is better from it !

My kids love their time at the Peach Pit! My son has enjoyed the Pokemon courses and cannot wait to try Chess Club & I-code next. My daughter enjoys the time at the Peach Pit and tells all of her friends about this special spot, "Just for kids! Meet me at the Pit!". The birthday parties are a one-of-a-kind fun with special attention to every detail. Rumson is lucky to have this special place in our community!
